League City Blog: Mammoth Trees

Mammoth Trees

We had a great spring break vacation in Mammoth Lakes, California... Skiing, snowmobiling, tubing, sledding, and some relaxation mixed within...  The weather was amazing... and so were the mountains.  And the trees...

It was no wonder that most people were skiing with helmets on with the size of these tree...   If only I could add mountains and trees like this to my neighborhood!!

It goes to show you that the best time to plant a tree is... about 100 years ago.

This is my daughter taking a break from skiing down the mountain!

Hi Brian,

I'm originally from New York City.  When I moved to California I had some idea about the California redwoods but when I actually saw them I was blown away.  And I haven't even seen the ones where you can drive through them.  Nature is amazing, isn't it.  Thanks for the great photo.

Brian,

Seems to me Sonny Bono hit one of these suckers while skiing.

That's one big tree! It's amazing that they grow so big. Nice shot!

What a cute blond hugging that big tree!!! Sounds like a great vacation. The snow has melted in N.W. Ohio and we have had some beautiful spring days...Karol

I have always wanted to visit the California redwoods. Mother Nature is just amazing. Look at the bark on that tree. Your daughter is a doll.
